It’s a bummer that there aren’t any videos of live performances of this on YouTube.
In honor of Banned Books Week, I am reading books that I worry about people seeing a page of on my commute, and judging me.
Yesterday I read a big chunk of Through the Valley of the Nest of Spiders (actually, this I read at home, as it is so filthy you couldn’t pay me to read it on my commute) as well as Building Stories, which isn’t filthy, just full of naked cartoons. And today I read most of Lightning Rods by Helen deWitt, which I’ve been meaning to read for awhile, and which I am finding just delightful, surprisingly. The conductor saw some of it, I think, because I felt her judging me.
I don’t know where this leaves The Casual Vacancy, which I am planning to start now on my lunch break, but I’ve heard rumors there is sex in it, so I should be okay.
